Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann is hosting “Pour Toujours,” a unique artistic journey conceived in collaboration with the Centre Pompidou-Metz. Curated by artist Maurizio Cattelan and Chiara Parisi, this “off-site” project echoes the exhibition “Dimanche sans fin” within the department store. Four major artists take over the landmark’s iconic spaces: Gloria Friedmann installs an animal fable beneath the dome, Birgit Jürgenssen exhibits her feminist photographs on the staircases, while Christodoulos Panayiotou fills the space beneath the dome with a sound installation and Lawrence Weiner displays a bilingual message on the panoramic terrace. By blending contemporary art with the daily flow of visitors, this initiative transforms the store into a space of wonder where the artworks become lasting memories.
In this film, artists Gloria Friedmann and Lawrence Weiner share their creative intentions. Guillaume Houzé, Executive Director of Image at the Galeries Lafayette Group, and Chiara Parisi, Director of the Centre Pompidou-Metz, discuss the themes of this exhibition.
