French Version

Five films present the work of five artists brought together for the exhibition “À mains nues” at MACVAL / Musée d’Art Contemporain du Val-de-Marne. Between drawings, paintings, installations and performances, Jean-Luc Blanc, Gaëlle Choisne, Mark Geffriaud, Abraham Poincheval and Jean-Luc Verna question their way of being in the world. How ? With the body: theirs, that of the other and their encounter. Jean-Luc Blanc paints from photographs, Jean-Luc Verna draws surreal creatures, Abraham Poincheval walks on clouds, and Mark Geffriaud presents the viewer with another way of apprehending time. Each pursues this question of representation, between fantasy and reality.

To activate it all, Gaëlle Choisne imagines a journey of total works punctuating the exhibition. The artist takes over the museum and proposes to make it a social space, a place dedicated to care.

We follow these five artists in their uniqueness as well as in their complementarities.
