Les Musicollages
A film by Gilles Coudert
(80 min. / 2010)

What if the city filled with musicians! Here is a sweet utopia proposed by Jacques Siron, multimedia musician, to meet the wishes of his sponsors. Artists, teachers and students from the Cité de la Musique: they move around, question, try to reduce the distance between art and life, between music and social space, between works and their environment. Their adventure is open, polyphonic, multimedia, collaborative. Starting from the different types of music played at the Cité de la Musique in Marseille, they take back roads, sometimes integrating elements of theatricality, scenography, images as well as words and texts.

From the Multisérénade, a multitude of small private concerts, to musical performances played for a week in various places in the city, the director Gilles Coudert has followed all these multiple stages, rehearsals and performances which gave life to the Musicollages. This feature film, produced in collusion with Jacques Siron, brings a unique look, between stage and backstage, on the diversity of this shared event and opens up perspectives that already extend the dynamics of this project over time …

The booklet offers a foreword by Sylvie Amar, a presentation by Jacques Siron and a series of texts by professors from the Cité de la Musique in Marseille.
