This film presents Tadashi Kawamata‘s installation “The Shower,” created at the Cloister of Santa Caterina a Formiello in Naples, Italy, in 2017. The artist wanted to recreate his first impression upon entering the cloister: a shower of light. This installation was created from thousands of crates used to transport fruits and vegetables, symbols of the region’s local economy. It was created in collaboration with local artisans and young residents of Naples’ Porta Capuana neighborhood, who share their interpretations of the project. Foundation President Rosa Alba Impronta and Site Director Davide de Blasio explain the context and challenges of this project.
