Dans le film, raconté par Charles Berling, nous suivons Eric, un passionné d’art et de nature, tout au long de ce parcours pour découvrir à la fois les œuvres et ce territoire. Les artistes, des scientifiques et les acteurs du projet, nous donnent des clefs de compréhension et d’interprétation du territoire au côté d’habitants et de visiteurs qui nous font part de leur ressentis. Cette frontière géographique ne divise pas mais relie les hommes entre eux. Elle les inclue dans le cycle de l’eau, emblématique à la fois de ce territoire et des grands enjeux mondiaux.

Avec entre autres les artistes Gloria Friedmann, Kôichi Kurita, Olivier Leroi, Henrique Oliveira, Stéphane Thidet, Felice Varini, Eric Watt du Collectif Toplamak ainsi que Gilles Clément, jardinier, paysagiste, écrivain et Eric Benqué, designer.

An invisible line separates the Mediterranean basin from the Atlantic basin: it is the watershed that has slowly shaped, century after century, the landscape we admire today. It has carved out valleys, outlined slopes, flattened ridges, and determined roads and trails. It naturally inspired an artistic journey along the GR7 hiking trail in the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Natural Park. There, a dozen permanent works examine the global issues raised by the watershed. The question of water, its quality, its preservation, and its sharing is directly linked to the threat of climate change caused by human activity.

In the film, narrated by Charles Berling, we follow Eric, an art and nature enthusiast, throughout this journey to discover both the works and this territory. The artists, scientists, and project stakeholders give us keys to understanding and interpreting the territory alongside residents and visitors who share their feelings with us. This geographical border does not divide but connects people. It includes them in the water cycle, emblematic of both this territory and major global issues.

Una linea invisibile separa il bacino del Mediterraneo da quello atlantico: è la linea di spartiacque che ha lentamente disegnato, secolo dopo secolo, il paesaggio che ammiriamo oggi. Ha scavato le valli, disegnato le pendenze, livellato le creste, deciso percorsi e sentieri. Ha naturalmente ispirato un percorso artistico lungo il sentiero escursionistico GR7 all’interno del Parco Naturale Regionale dei Monti dell’Ardèche. Lì, una decina di opere permanenti riflette sulle sfide planetarie legate alla linea di spartiacque. La questione dell’acqua, della sua qualità, della sua conservazione e condivisione è direttamente collegata alla minaccia del cambiamento climatico causato dall’attività umana.

Nel film, narrato da Charles Berling, seguiamo Eric, un appassionato di arte e natura, lungo questo percorso per scoprire sia le opere che questo territorio. Gli artisti, gli scienziati e gli attori del progetto ci offrono chiavi di comprensione e interpretazione del territorio insieme agli abitanti e ai visitatori che ci raccontano le loro sensazioni. Questa frontiera geografica non divide, ma unisce le persone tra di loro. Le include nel ciclo dell’acqua, simbolico sia per questo territorio che per le grandi sfide mondiali.
