This film presents the installation of Tadashi Kawamata in the Saint-Louis chapel of the Salpêtrière hospital in Paris as part of the Festival d’Automne. The Japanese artist creates an ephemeral work in the form of a passage, made from thousands of church chairs and pews. Over the course of its construction, the work operates on the workers who build it as well as on the visitors who pass through it, a gradual change of point of view.

Ce film présente l’installation de Tadashi Kawamata à la chapelle Saint-Louis de l’hôpital de la Salpêtrière à Paris dans le cadre du Festival d’Automne. L’artiste japonais crée une œuvre éphémère en forme de passage, réalisée à partir de milliers de chaises et de bancs d’église. Au fil de sa construction l’œuvre opère sur les ouvriers qui l’échafaudent comme sur les visiteurs qui la traversent un changement progressif de point de vue.
