Gilles Coudert’s film, narrated by Charles Berling, stages a dialogue between contemporary creation and heritage on the occasion of Traversées, a cultural event organized in Poitiers, with Korean artist Kimsooja as guest of honor. The story is woven through the notions of links and sharing that can be found in almost all the artworks, installations, performances, choreographies or concerts on display. The artists talk about their works and also shed light on their installation process. The film explores how the heritage of Poitiers and the works themselves come to life as residents and tourists participate in the event, establishing a link between past and present.

Le film de Gilles Coudert, raconté par Charles Berling, met en scène un dialogue entre la création contemporaine et le patrimoine à l’occasion de la manifestation culturelle Traversées organisée à Poitiers dont l’artiste coréenne Kimsooja est l’invitée d’honneur. Le récit se tisse à travers les notions de liens et de partage présentes dans la plupart des œuvres, installations, performances, chorégraphies ou concerts. Les artistes nous parlent de leur projet et nous dévoilent le processus d’installation de leurs œuvres. Le film s’attache à montrer combien le patrimoine de Poitiers ainsi que les œuvres proposées prennent vie lorsque les habitants et le public les visitent et les pratiquent, instaurant ainsi un lien au présent.
