The artist duo Anne and Patrick Poirier, fueled by their passion for archaeology and architecture, created the new stained glass windows and the altar of the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament at the Palais du Tau, which is next to Reims Cathedral. Captivated by the folds that punctuate the architecture of the place, Anne and Patrick take us on the adventure of this public commission from the Centre des Monuments Nationaux. At the same time, in Nantes, where Patrick was born during the bombings, the couple is featured at the Musée d’Arts, invited to create a large solo exhibition.
By following the steps of creating their works, we travel through time and space, right into the heart of the mystery of co-creation of a duo that has been working together since 1968. From the war ruins that haunted their childhood to the archaeological ruins that inhabit their works, we gradually uncover the mystery surrounding this intense couple, both on stage and in life. From their numerous trips across the world, from Laos to Afghanistan to the TV set of “Lunettes noires pour nuits blanches,” these two art adventurers reinvent a dialogue between past and present. The art of the duo!
