For its new edition of the ‘Salon de l’Ifa’, the Cité de l’architecture & du patrimoine gave carte blanche to Périphériques architectes (Anne-Françoise Jumeau, Emmanuelle Marin-Trottin and David Trottin), who wished to hold a show there in the pure tradition of the Age of Enlightenment.

They have therefore brought together “fine minds” from the world of architecture, but also project owners, artists, writers, critics, photographers and even filmmakers. Every week, from March to July 2008, the various guests of these “thinking diners” expressed and exchanged their views on the “city”.
Two “salonniers” – Philippe Trétiack and Stéphanie Bui – alternately retraced these debates in a mood note. Around the table, the guests have placed an object, a book, a drawing over the course of the dinners… evoking the city that is close to their hearts, to finally constitute a real cabinet of curiosities.

This notebook-DVD presents the route in pictures of Périphériques architectes, their key dates, their references, their preferences, as well as all the mood notes and objects from the cabinet of curiosities.

Gilles Coudert‘s film is based on an interview between Fiona Meadows and members of Périphériques architectes, who engage in the Chinese portrait game and present the challenges and approach of their ‘Salon de l’Ifa’.

Texts by Stéphane Bui et Philippe Trétiack.
